How Good Science Beauty’s 003-Hy Hydrating Facial Works

The 003-Hy Hydrating Facial is a sleeping mask formulated to work while your skin is in optimal repair mode. It is designed to be applied in the evening on clean skin, then rinsed off before your morning skincare routine.

This jelly-like textured mask absorbs well so it won’t get onto your pillows while it works to hydrate and plump your skin while you sleep. While it was created as a sleeping mask, it also can be used during the day for a shorter amount of time. Be sure to read the How To section for more details on application for this mask.

Whatever your preference or skin needs are, the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial is a great choice!

The Benefits of Face Masks

Adding a facial mask to your regular skin care routine is a good way to add a quick boost of hydration or nutrients to your skin in a concentrated form. They are best used in addition to your regular skin care products.

If you use the right face mask, you can get a healthy dose of hydration to your skin after each use.

This is why the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial makes a fantastic mask for skin needing some extra attention.

Let’s take a deeper look into how this unique mask works.

How The Ingredients Work in the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial

Like its sibling, the 003-Hy Hydrating Face Cream, this hydrating facial works powerfully with the partnership of Marine Omega 3’s and Hyaluronic Acid.

Alone, Marine Omega 3’s and Hyaluronic Acid are successful ingredients, but when you pair them together, the results are even more noticeable. Marine Omega-3’s help strengthen the skin barrier, locking in the moisture from the Hyaluronic Acid.

Here is how each individual ingredient works to deliver hydration and anti-aging benefits to your skin.

Marine Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3’s are Fatty Acids which are essential energy sources and membrane constituents. Omega-3 Fatty Acids are not only used as energy sources for our cells, but they also can reduce the risk of blood clotting and reduce inflammation.

In addition to your health, they have been proven to have transformative effects on the skin, addressing a wide range of concerns and working in harmony with topical hydration. The DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) in fish oils are found to be more effective fatty acids than plant-derived ALA (alpha-linolenic acid).

Omega-3’s have been shown to improve skin barrier function and seal in moisture. This can also minimize skin irritation. The 003-Hy Hydrating Facial is particularly helpful for repairing the skin barrier since it is a leave-on treatment that delivers a boost to dehydrated skin while sealing in moisture.

Marine Omega-3’s also help prevent premature aging and promote healthy cell membranes, resulting in soft, supple, and wrinkle-free skin.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a powerful humectant naturally present in our skin, helping to maintain its moisture levels and keep it looking plump and youthful.

One of the key advantages of hyaluronic acid is its incredible ability to retain moisture. It has the capacity to hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, making it a superb ingredient for providing intense hydration to the skin. As we age, our skin's natural levels of hyaluronic acid decrease, leading to a loss of moisture and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. By incorporating hyaluronic acid into our skincare routine, we can replenish this essential compound and restore our skin's natural hydration levels.

Hyaluronic acid also has the ability to plump and firm the skin, giving it a more youthful and radiant appearance. When applied topically, hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin's surface and works to improve its texture and elasticity. It helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, while also promoting the production of collagen, the protein responsible for maintaining the skin's structural integrity. By harnessing the power of hyaluronic acid, you can combat the signs of aging and achieve a more vibrant complexion.

One of the best things about hyaluronic acid is how versatile it is plus how it can benefit all skin types. Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, incorporating hyaluronic acid into your skincare routine can help balance and nourish your complexion. It works by attracting water molecules to the skin's surface, ensuring optimal hydration without clogging the pores or causing any greasiness. This makes hyaluronic acid a valuable addition to any skincare regimen, providing a boost of moisture and radiance to every individual's unique skin needs.

Different Kinds of Hyaluronic Acid

There are three different types of hyaluronic acid found in skincare: hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, sodium acetylated hyaluronate, and sodium hyaluronate

Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid is hyaluronic acid that has been broken down into elements small enough for skin. It is not the most moisturizing form of hyaluronic acid.

Sodium acetylated hyaluronate is similar to the sodium hyaluronate form, but might be better for those in a dryer climate or with extra dry skin.

Sodium hyaluronate is the form that goes deepest into skin and provides the best results. The lower molecular weight of Sodium Hyaluronate makes it more effective at penetrating the skin’s top layer.

The 003-Hy Hydrating Facial Uses Sodium Hyaluronate

Good Science Beauty uses a low molecular weight Sodium Hyaluronate, which is easier to absorb than high molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid, and Good Silicon+® ensures optimal slow release (more on this below).

Just like in our 003- Hy Hydrating Face Cream, our 003-Hy Hydrating Facial is using the best hyaluronic acid to deliver it effectively to your skin.

How The Active Ingredients in 003-Hy Hydrating Cream Get To Your Skin

How the ingredients get to your skin is what makes a skincare product actually work. And what makes Good Science Beauty Products unique is our patented Good Silicon+® technology

Good Silicon+ delivers fresh and effective ingredients exactly where they’re needed and releases them over time as it slowly dissolves into orthosilicic acid (the form of silicon your body can absorb), which has been shown to be good for collagen production and skin health.

Good Silicon+ allows for the Marine Omega-3 (derived from sustainable European fish sources) in the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial to have no unpleasant odor unlike many other skincare products with Omega-3’s. These products need to use a less effective plant-based Omega-3 to avoid any bad smell.

003-Hy Hydrating Face Cream vs 003-Hy Hydrating Facial

Both of these hydrating products are rich in Marine Omega 3’s and Hyaluronic Acid. One of the key differences in these two products is the texture and application.

The Hydrating Face Cream has a thinner consistency and is great for day time and night time use. You can layer other face creams on top of the 003-Hy Hydrating Face Cream or use it as the first layer. Due to how quickly Good Science Beauty creams absorb into your skin, you can layer as many creams as you would like in any order. Each cream has the same base and texture, so the order you apply them won’t matter.

The 003-Hy Hydrating Facial has a jelly-like thicker texture. You can see from the picture, this texture feels like a gel, but it has no stickiness to it. As you apply the mask, it easily glides and absorbs into your skin. While it is formulated specifically to use at night while you sleep, it can also be used during the day as a regular face mask to deliver a deep and quick hydrating boost.

How To Use The 003 Hy-Hydrating Facial

We briefly mentioned how to use the Hydrating Facial, but let’s explain more about the best ways to use this facial mask.

At night after cleansing your skin, you can apply your Good Science Beauty Creams in any order. After the regular face creams have been absorbed, top with the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial. You can apply this over the entire face or on dry areas that need attention.

You can also use this facial alone at night. After cleansing your face, apply the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial all over the face before bed.

The Hydrating Facial is not greasy and does not leave any residue on your pillow while you sleep at night due to how this product absorbs into your skin. When you wake up in the morning, you will notice a slight hydrating shine to your skin. This is the protective coating that the mask left on your skin. The mask is formulated to stay on your skin and deeply hydrate which is why it won’t rub off on your pillows. In the morning you can either rinse off the coating left on your skin or you can lightly dampen your skin and rub the remaining mask into it before applying your morning products.

Lastly, you can also use this hydrating facial as a regular mask. After cleansing skin, leave the product on for at least 15 minutes to get a quick hydration boost, then rinse off. Dry your skin, then apply your normal skin care routine and makeup.

You can combine the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial with any other Good Science Beauty Creams. Check out our Firm Up Trio which comes with the 003-Hydrating Face Cream, 005-Fi Skin Firming Cream, and the 003-Hy Hydrating Facial. These products complement each other very well. The Hydrating Face Cream and Hydrating Facial deeply hydrate your skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while the 005-Fi Skin Firming Cream supports skin elasticity and evening out of skin tone. All of these products work together to enhance your skin’s healthy, youthful appearance.

To use this Trio, apply the Hydrating Face Cream after cleansing all over the face. Allow it to dry, then apply the Skin Firming Cream all over your face, then allow it to dry. A few nights per week, top with the Hydrating Facial before going to bed. When you wake up, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.
